AUGUSTA – Scouts from Girl Scout Troop 910 of the River Valley were welcomed to the State House by state Sen. Lisa Keim, R-Oxford, as part of Scout Recognition Day on Tuesday, April 18.
Scout Recognition Day is an annual event hosted by the Maine State Legislature to honor the youth and volunteers involved in Maine’s scouting programs. During their visit, Keim answered questions from the girls and showed them her desk in the Senate Chamber, including her voting buttons. Besides touring the State House, the troop visited the Maine State Museum.
“Visiting with the girls from Troop 910 during their trip to Augusta was the most refreshing part of my day,” said Keim. “I hope the girls enjoyed Scout Recognition Day and appreciate their leaders taking the time to bring them.”
