WINTHROP — The Sexual Assault Crisis and Support Center will honor Red Barn owner Laura Benedict at a Night of Recognition, 6 p.m., Thursday, April 6, at the Senator Inn, Western Avenue, Augusta. The event is to recognize community members and partners who have made a difference in the lives of children, adults and families affected by sexual abuse, according to a news release from the organization.
Benedict, who will be the keynote speaker, will receive the Peter McAvoy Champion of Children Award. Guest speaker will be Renee Adams, Mrs. Maine International.
