$1000 is up for grabs in the Winter Broke and Stoked video contest
CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Maine Outdoor Film Festival (MOFF) has announced 10 finalists of the Winter Broke and Stoked video contest, premiering April 1 at the Avery Ballroom inside the Sugarloaf Inn, 5092 Access Rd. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with films beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $5 at www.eventbrite.com/e/winter-broke-and-stoked-premiere-tickets-30221791191.
The 10 finalists receive an outdoor gear prize pack from MOFF sponsors, and those finalists are (TITLE – director – town):

“We had to turn away some incredibly good films,” said MOFF director Nick Callanan. “It was a really hard decision, but it just goes to show, this Broke and Stoked initiative is working! Mainers are indeed getting outdoors and getting creative!” MOFF and Sugarloaf have put up a $1,000 prize for the first place film, the one with the most online votes. Voting takes place April 2 to 14 at www.brokeandstoked.com. Voters will also be able to view the films at that website address beginning April 2.
The Maine Outdoor Film Festival takes place each September with 12 specially-curated screenings all over Maine. MOFF also holds two short video contests for Mainers — summer and winter–known as the “Broke and Stoked Video Contest.” Proceeds from MOFF are donated to Teens to Trails, a Brunswick-based non-profit, supporting Maine high school outing clubs with cash grants (more than 70 high schools throughout the state has received cash grants from T3), organizational support (like the Spring Thing conference for outing club leaders) and programming (such as Winter Skills Workshops).
