Raised bed and container gardening classes begin May 10 in Skowhegan

SKOWHEGAN — University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s five-session class on raised bed and container gardening will begin on May 10 and run through September.

The first class is 9-11 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, at the Somerset County Extension office, 7 County Drive. Participants will help build raised-bed square-foot containers, then plant, maintain and harvest vegetables from them. Extension staff and master gardener volunteers will lead the hands-on series, which also has sessions June 14, July 19, Aug. 16 and Sept. 13, at the same time and location.
