Program to help grieving children begins March 29

WATERVILLE — The next session of “Hope’s Place,” sponsored by Hospice Volunteers of Waterville, will be held Thursday nights beginning March 29 and continuing through May 3. Groups begin at 6 p.m. and last an hour.

The mission of “Hope’s Place” is to provide a safe, supportive environment for grieving children, teens and families through peer support groups. This program serves youth ages three to 18 as well as their parents or caregivers. All “Hope’s Place” group sessions are held at the First Congregational Church UCC, 7 Eustis Parkway.

Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area serves 27 communities in Central Maine and provides non-medical support to individuals and their families during the last phases of life, to loved ones throughout the grieving process, and to educate the community on issues related to death and grieving. Bereavement services are available to anyone who has sustained loss either through illness or unexpectedly. HVWA is volunteer-based and community funded.
