AUGUSTA – State Rep. Betty Austin, D-Skowhegan, welcomes Marya Goettsche Spurling, M.D., of Skowhegan Family Medicine to the State House recently, where Goettsche served as Doctor of the Day. A tradition since 1996, a physician is present for each day of the legislative session to assist in the event of a medical emergency, according to the Maine Legislature House Democratic Office.
