New Year’s babies welcomed at Lewiston hospitals

LEWISTON — The first local baby of the new year, Zander Ruben Callahan, was born to parents Charlotte Oh and Darren Callahan, of Lewiston, Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston. Zander was born at 12:03 a.m.,

weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces, and was 19.5-inches long. Nanna and Poppa to Zander are Suzanne and Rodney Finlay. Darren says Charlotte had a long, hard labor which lasted over 60 hours. “But, it was all worth it. Zander is the best early birthday present I’ve ever received,” said Darren, noting that his birthday is Jan. 3. “We are just happy that he’s healthy.”

Auburn, Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Avriy’Anna was born at 1:26 a.m., weighing 5 pounds 11 ounces, and was 19-inches long. Kaylee said she went into labor at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, and delivered her daughter at 1:26 a.m. on Sunday, after 30 hours of labor. When asked about her daughter’s unusual name and its signficance, Kaylee said she heard the name “and loved it.”
