BETHEL — The National Alliance on Mental Illness in the western mountains is offering a free course to learn how to help youth and teens with mental health and substance abuse problems.
The course, which results in a three-year certification, will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the West Parish Congregational Church, 32 Church St. The course if free, with a $5 lunch offered.
The course is for parents, teachers, neighbors, health staffs, citizens interested in learning how to recognize symptoms of mental health and substance use problems in youth/teens and what to do to help individuals experiencing those issues.
