1947 – 2016
SKOWHEGAN – MADISON – Joy A. Pomelow, 68, passed away peacefully Nov. 15 at her home surrounded by her four youngest children and sister, Deborah. She was born Dec. 17, 1947, in Kingfield, the daughter of Joseph T. and Alice L. (White) Pomelow. She was educated in the schools of Madison and Norridgewock.

Joy enjoyed painting, sewing, knitting, spending time with her cat, Gracie,
and with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a
loving mother and Mammie: “I love all my children with all my heart.” Joy is
survived by her seven children, Kenneth Pomelow and partner, Lori, of
Norridgewock, Vicky York and husband, Ricki, of Gorham, Daniel Pomelow of
Madison, Jeffrey Pomelow of Solon, Deidra Pomelow and partner, Kevin, of
Madison, Jason Pomelow of Skowhegan, and Jeremy Pomelow and wife, Michelle,
of Skowhegan; seven sisters, Trudy Pomelow and partner, Carolyn, of
Skowhegan, Deborah Gilman and husband, Mark, of Argyle, Cathy Barton and
husband, Jamie, of Milford, Laurie Robbins and husband, Gary, of Starks, Sue
Kitchin of Madison, Rose Pomelow of Madison, and Betty Cole and husband,
Jerry, of Anson; brother, Frank Pomelow and wife, Georgianna, of Clinton; 11
grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Alice (White) Pomelow; and
sister, Gloria Brown.
