According to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, 100 million Americans have no live memory of the attacks. On the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, the Lewiston Fire Department brought that history home through a remembrance ceremony honoring the Mainers whose lives were lost that day.
Five Lewiston High School students shared the stories of five Mainers affected by the attacks. Claudette Jalbert will offered a personal remembrance of her brother-in-law, Lewiston native Robert Jalbert. These tributes allow those gathered to remember not only how they died, but how they lived.
The ceremony included a joint Lewiston Fire and Police Honor Guard processional, wreath presentation and ceremonial bell tolling at 8:46 AM the time American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center
