ArtsFarmington is pleased to present a concert by two members of the Portland Piano Trio: pianist Anastasia Antonacos and violinist Tracey Jasas-Hardel. They are joined by guest artist Nicole Rabata on flute. “Stories Through Music” will be on Friday evening, October 9, at 7pm in Nordica Auditorium of UMF Merrill Hall in Farmington.
All three musicians have stellar educations and have performed worldwide. All three are also actively engaged in Maine’s music world of various festivals and orchestras. It is noteworthy that both Anastasia and Tracey are involved in the program “240 Strings,” which they cofounded in the Portland area to stimulate the appreciation of classical music among children by making instruments, lessons, and performances available at low cost, and by creating a “music community,” with group workshops and performances.
Flutist Nicole Rabata has been on the music faculty of Colby College for many years and is a passionate flute teacher. She is also involved in early music groups where she plays the baroque flute.
“Musical stories” are told by various composers, including Clara and Robert Schumann.
The concert is free for UMF students and for youth 18 and younger under our Arts Inspire Youth program. Adult admission is $25 and $20 for ArtsFarmington members. “Pay as you can” is accepted and no one is turned away. Tickets are available online at artsfarmington.org or at the door.
