LEWISTON—The Franco Center is going to rock with music from the 1980s at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026. The Totally Rad is a cover band that reimagines 1980s music for the modern day with a wide variety of classic ‘80s tunes and quirky one-hit wonders.
The band includes Doug Alford on vocals, guitar, and keyboard, Russ Murley on drums, Krister Rollins on guitar, and Kevin O’Reilly, bass and vocals.
The band was formed by O’Reilly under a variety of different names and served as a vehicle for his solo efforts. “My solo music foray quickly morphed into a quirky cover band which finally found its focus a few years ago as a slightly odd ’80s cover band,” he said, “focusing on hits and songs that fall under the radar.”
“Doug is a slightly unpredictable multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who regularly performs as a solo act as well as with The Totally Rad,” O’Reilly said about his band mate. “Russ lives with his head in the clouds in the Rangeley Lakes region where he forecasts the weather for all over North America and spends way too much time skiing and tapping along to music on the desk, pots, pans and occasionally the drums.
Krister is a chronically under-caffeinated guitarist and bassist living in the swamp in Casco, who has played in multiple bands over the years including The Underachievers. and the Mark ‘Guitar’ Miller Blues Band,” said O’Reilly.
About himself, O’Reilly said he brings an absurd sense of humor to the band and his solo music and he has played in a variety of genres, including a stint in the folk world with The Dave Rowe Trio. O’Reilly’s solo music has been played on Maine Public Radio as the film Dorm.
The objective of the band? O’Reilly said, “Together, the band has two goals: to guide you through the music of the ’80s and to make you dance!”
Doors and cash bar open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 at the door. The Franco Center is handicap accessible through its elevator entrance on the Lincoln St. Alley side of the building. Parking is available in the mill lot on Oxford Street or the Chestnut Street parking garage. The venue is located at 46 Cedar Street in Lewiston.
