Members and Friends of the Farmington Grange have recently completed their annual quilt project, which will be raffled off to raise money for local food pantries in September. This year’s quilt features squares that are hand embroidered and applicayed with various birds. It also is also embellished with hand sewn satin ribbon. It is more of a wall hanging or throw as it measures 3 feet by 4 feet. It is a work of art. Raffle tickets can be obtained from any Grange member for $5. The winning ticket will be drawn on the last day of the Farmington Fair in the Exhibition Hall.
Last year, the quilt raffle raised over $600, which was donated to a local food pantry.
Members spent most of the winter and spring working on the quilt at WWWs, Wednesday Work and Warm Up Days, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, October thru April. Where everyone is welcome to come and have lunch and visit. This years quilt will be displayed at the Farmington Fair Exibition Hall throughout the fair week.
