Madison: Serving Those Who Serve–Veteran Dale Bickford and his wife, Jasmine, an Auxiliary member, belong to both American Legion Post 39 and VFW Post 7865 in Madison. Through their continued support of veterans and the broader community, they embody the spirit of “Service, Not Self.” When it became known that the Bickford’s needed a well, both organizations, along with their respective Auxiliaries, responded in the same spirit of service that defines their missions. Fundraising efforts began to help meet this important need and support a family that has given so much to others. Together, more than $10,000 was raised. With an additional donation from Chad Grignon of Pine State Drilling, the fundraising effort made the Bickford’s well a reality and a well was placed on June 11th. To complete the project, the well still needed to be connected to the Bickfords’ home. On July 1, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 39 of Madison presented the family with a $1,000 donation to cover that cost. This final stage of the project is expected to be completed within the next two weeks.
