$1500 higher education scholarships awarded – Your community donations at work for our local youth

Livermore Falls, Maine – January 20,2026 – Jay-Livermore Falls Lions club, a leader in community service, is proud to announce the recipients of the higher learning scholarships. Each year, 3 local students are selected from a pool of applicants for their outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities, and commitment to Community Service.Application deadline in May.

2025 – 2026 recipients include Avery Ryder – UMF, Farmington College – pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. (on left) Club President, Lion Connie Godfrey, a retired educator herself presented the scholarship awards. (Middle) Hannah Perkins – UMF, Farmington college – pursuing a degree in psychology. (on right) Absent from photo, Sarah Hawkins – UMO, University of Maine at Orono – psychology and child development.

The Jay-Livermore Lions club was established in 2010, from this club that includes local teaching professionals, local professionals and retirees committed to having fun and making our community better. This group implemented this scholarship program, developed to support the next generation of youth by providing $1500.00 toward higher learning expenses annually.

“We are incredibly proud to support these talented individuals as they pursue their educational goals,” said Club President, Lion Connie Godfrey, “These scholars represent the future, and we are excited to see the impact these deserving students will make in our community”.
