In addition to a night of fireworks from the several kids camps around the lake, Echo Lake held its first annual boat parade.
A parade of 16 powerboats and 7 kayaks and canoes traveled around the 6 mile lake waiving and tooting their horns in celebration of our Independence Day. The patriotic spirit was alive and well as many campers, camps and home owners cheered the parade on. It was a glorious sunny day with slightly choppy waters, perfect for a dynamic parade. The hope is to expand the parade each year and next year will include Winnebago and the Laurel loops. Thank you participants and those who enjoyed and cheered the boats along and many thanks to Stephanie Flanagan and Sherrie Oram-Smith for organizing this event.
