The Nor’easters Barbershop Chorus
The Nor’easters Barbershop Chorus was not on vacation this summer. Their men’s chorus and mixed chorus, not to mention their Windjammers Quartet, were singing indoors and out. They started out at the Topsham Public Library.
Outdoor performances included a Friday evening at the Bath Gazebo. They were scheduled for an event on the gazebo at Harpswell’s Mitchell Field, but it got rained out and rescheduled for September 8th. Here they are at the Bath Gazebo.
Also, in Bath there was a performance at the Plant Memorial block party for their neighbors. As with most of their audiences, many sang along with familiar songs. The chorus also rehearses at the Plant Home, and residents are invited to come listen as they rehearse every week.
It was a warm, sunny Saturday at the Community Center in Georgetown. The audience avoided the sunlit seats and stood in the shade of the trees to watch.
Indoors, they sang for Lincoln Home in Newcastle and Sunnybrook in Brunswick and a concert at the library in Topsham.
The Chorus rehearses every Tuesday evening at 7 PM. If you would like to be part of the joy of brightening people’s lives with familiar songs, please call the director, Kathy Robitaille, at 207-542- 7699.
