Wreaths Across America
AUGUSTA- The mission of Wreaths Across America is to remember the fallen; honor those who served; and teach the next generation the value of freedom. Across the area, Scouts took part in wreath-laying ceremonies on December 16 as part of the nationwide Wreaths Across America Day.
Scouts from Hallowell Troop 647 joined Scouts from Vassalboro Pack and Troop 410, Windsor Pack and Troop 609, and Gardiner Pack and Troop 672 in Augusta at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery to place wreaths there.

Connor Riddle of Troop 672 lives in Randolph. Before placing the wreath, Connor read the name of the veteran and gave the Scout salute as a show of appreciation and respect and then placed the wreath on his grave.
