BANGOR – An expo for veterans and their families that will provide information and resources related to the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act, as well as other topics, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Anah Shriners Lodge, 1404 Broadway.
The free event will provide an opportunity for veterans to file disability claims, enroll in health care, and receive toxic exposure screenings. It will also include a chance to get hunting and fishing licenses from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, state park passes from Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services, national park passes from National Park Service, and more.
Attendees will also receive a free lunch from Operation at Ease, have an opportunity to win door prizes, and enjoy music from local groups. There will also be an inflatable obstacle course, courtesy of the National Guard, for kids.
The expo is sponsored by the Veterans Benefits Administration, Togus Regional Office and Veterans Health Administration, VA Maine Healthcare System. Veterans service organizations, as well as state and community organizations that will be on hand to share information about resources available to veterans, service members and their families.
