PORTLAND – One year ago, AARP Maine sponsored its first virtual “listening tour” of the state, and we heard a wealth of concerns, suggestions and ideas from AARP members and non-members.
This year, State Director Noël Bonam, Volunteer State President Carl Bucciantini and Executive Council member Carl Toney are inviting Mainers to join them on the What’s Your Story? AARP Maine’s 2023 Virtual Listening Tour. The sessions will give participants from the 50-plus population the opportunity to share what’s on their mind.
The tour includes seven listening “stops,” between Feb. 20 and March 20, divided by county, but all are welcome to participate in any one of them, or as many as they like.
AARP seeks thoughts and ideas about what’s of concern to Mainers over 50, whether it be figuring out a retirement schedule, finding someone to talk to about issues or complaints, caregiving challenges, ideas to improve the community, affordable housing questions, and more.
The Zoom sessions will allow AARP to share its resources, help participants navigate concerns or ideas, and connect people with local resources and services.
