Yellow Tulip Project Hope Gardens to be planted in Skowhegan Oct. 10

SKOWHEGAN — Redington-Fairview General Hospital is partnering with Somerset County organizations, businesses, and schools to plant Hope Gardens in their communities on Monday, Oct. 10, as part of the Yellow Tulip Project.
Hope Garden planting ceremonies promote the effort in reducing stigma, spreading hope, and building community around mental illness so that people know that there is always help and hope, and that no one should ever suffer alone.
The event is made possible by partnership with RFGH, Lake George Regional Park, Somerset Woods Trustees, Somerset Public Health, Main Street Skowhegan, Crisis and Counseling, Maine Grains, and Bangor Savings Bank. All who have been affected by mental illness, or who wish to spread awareness, are invited to attend any of the five planting ceremonies. Attendees will have the opportunity to assist in the planting of tulip bulbs in the Hope Gardens.
