BRIDGTON – Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club Project Leader Erin Nelson is contacting all schools in the club’s area for a count of third-graders, who will receive dictionaries from the club this fall.
Nelson said that the club is also seeking home-schooled students of third-grade age, so they can get dictionaries, too.
“Contact us at LakeRegionRotary@gmail.com with the number of dictionaries you are requesting,” Nelso said.
The club covers Bridgton, Denmark, Harrison, Naples, and Sweden. “But we are willing to provide for homeschoolers anywhere in the Lake Region,” Nelso said. “We’ll leave them at a local school, library or community center for pickup. Let us know.”
The Dictionary Project is one of the club’s most important literacy efforts. Rotarians love this service project, club officials said. This year, is extra special, since Rotarians will be welcomed back into the classroom to hand out dictionaries to the students in person.
