RANGELEY – The Rangeley Ecumenical Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday, offering food, as well as household and personal items.
The food pantry is in the undercroft (lower level) of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 2614 Main St., and supported by Rangeley’s Baptist, Catholic, Congregational and Episcopal churches, as well as the Log Church.
The food pantry’s shelves are filled with dry goods and canned foods of all sorts, as well as meats, butter, breads, eggs and cheese, as well as flour, sugar, rice, cereals, shelf-stable milk, juices, toilet paper, and there are things that get donated such as deodorant, shampoo, shave gel and sometimes pet food.
Pantry volunteers also deliver a variety of goods to Rangeley elderly housing.
Good Shepherd Food Bank supplies many of the dry goods to the food pantry, but all fresh items are bought. The pantry welcome donations of food and cash.
To make a direct donation of food, place nonperishable items in the basket outside the door, which is just inside the side door of the undercroft, at any time. To make a cash donation to support the food pantry’s work in the community, make a check out to The Ecumenical Food Pantry and mail it to PO Box 1028, Rangeley, ME 04970.
Leadership of the Ecumenical Food Pantry includes Barry Libby, chair; Robert Haddock, treasurer; and Sue Downes-Borko as secretary.
