OXFORD — Paul LaRoche handed over the gavel to Bob and Eleanor Herrick at the annual meeting of the Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club, held at Dunkin’ Donuts in Welchville.

The Herricks are the new co-presidents of the club, taking over from LaRoche. Esther Tucker, of West Poland, was named treasurer; Chandler Wright, of Greenwood, is secretary; and Melody Cox, of Bryant Pond, is vice-president. Directors are LaRoche, and his wife, Carla, of Windham, and Dick and Joan Deans of Hebron.

The club’s Ice Cream Social, the last dance of the season, will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St., South Paris. Ray Hilton, the club caller, will call the square dancing and the round dancing cuer will be announced.

Admission is $7 per person. Those who don’t dance are welcome at no charge. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing and everyone gets to make his or her own sundae, with lots of choices of toppings, and other refreshments. For more information, call Eleanor Herrick at 782-4050.
