SKOWHEGAN — A celebration of local cheese, bread, and beer is slated for noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at Bigelow Brewing Co.
Cheese, Brews, and Bread will feature samples from local cheese makers and bread makers, as well as beer from Skowhegan’s own Bigelow Brewing Co.–including a limited-edition, special-release brew.
Suggestions for cheese, bread, and beer pairings will occur on the hour beginning at 1 p.m. Dusty Dowse, director of education and the Maine Artisan Bread Fair for the Maine Grain Alliance, will offer fire-baking demonstrations of naan and possibly pita at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.
Cheese, bread, and beer will all be available for purchase, with confirmed vendors including Abraham’s Goat Farm & Creamery, Crooked Face Creamery, The Bankery, Maine Crisp Company, Moodytown Gardens, Swallowtail Farm, and Wholesome Holmstead.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. They will be available ahead of the event at Main Street Skowhegan and Bigelow Brewing Co. All proceeds benefit Somerset Cultural Planning, a project of the Wesserunsett Arts Council.
