Women’s club members ‘paint Skowhegan pink’ for breast cancer awareness

Nov. 62021

GFWC Semper Fidelis Club of Skowhegan, participated in Breast Cancer Awareness month by “Painting the Town Pink,” in October. Members painted cardboard ribbons pink, to display in the downtown Skowhegan area businesses and Redington-Fairview General Hospital. Hearing the story of a breast cancer survivor at a recent meeting, members were encouraged to keep important exams up to date, self-exam, and be your own advocate. Raising awareness is of the upmost importance in early detection and prevention. Pictured are, from left, members Carol Jarvais, Maureen Provencal, Nancy Ames and Lynn Rooney. (Submitted photo)
