SKOWHEGAN — Troop 485, of Skowhegan, and Troop 428, of Pittsfield, recently announced that Noah Wiswall was awarded his Eagle Scout Rank.
He was also awarded four Eagle Palms in recognition of the 30 merit badges he earned, which is more than the 21 required for Eagle rank.
His Eagle Scout project included building two flag retirement collection boxes and commissioning a custom-made fire pit for the American Legion Post 39 in Pittsfield. The flag collection boxes are located at the Pittsfield Transfer Station and the Dexter American Legion. After the completion of his project, Noah was contacted by the Corinna American Legion to see if he had another box they could maintain. He didn’t, but just the same Noah and his father made them one. The Pittsfield collection box has since been emptied three times. Troop 428 plans to retire those flags respectfully with a solemn and traditional ceremony this fall.
Noah, recently of Newport, is the son of Bert Wiswall III and Lourdes Wiswall and was a student at Nokomis Regional High School. He recently moved to Washington.
