WATERVILLE — Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area is offering bereavement workshops and discussions in September for those dealing with grief.
“Working with Clay” will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, in the Hospice Community Center Healing Garden at 304 Main St.
It will be led by community professionals and trained hospice bereavement volunteers. Registration is required.
The workshop is part of a series for those grieving the death of a loved one. Malley Weber will lead participants through clay work that will engage sensorimotor reflexes to help navigate emotional overloads and process deep emotions. Clay provides a natural mirror for oneself and through play and movement, participants can help their body repair, rese, and find rest.
For those looking to support a grieving child, a discussion will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, via Zoom.
When it comes to children and grief, many adults are left wondering “How do I support my child?” and “Is this behavior a normal way of coping?” If you have questions about how to support a grieving child in your life, the discussion covers what to expect and ways to help children cope with grief. The conversation will be led by staff and volunteers from Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area’s program for grieving children, Hope’s Place. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences. This program will be held online via Zoom.
