Madison Legion Auxiliary accepting sock donations for homeless at Feb. 27 ‘sock hop’

MADISON — Madison American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring a Drive-Thru Sock Hop at the Legion hall, 20 Maple St.
Those taking part can donate socks at the back entrance (facing Renys) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27. Donate new socks for homeless veterans, homeless shelters and others in need. Men’s, women’s, teenagers, children’s socks are all accepted, both warm socks and everyday socks.
Members of the auxiliary will be outside waiting for donations with 50s and 60s music playing.
Those who’d like to donate but can’t make the sock hop can find drop-off boxes at Renys and Family Dollar in Madison, as well as at Sun Rayz Tanning & Hair Salon, 171 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.
Monetary donations are also accepted, fo rthe auxiliary to buy the socks. Checks payable to Madison American Legion Auxiliary, earmark Sock Hop, mail to Madison ALA, PO Box 325, Madison, ME 04950
