Community Concepts seeking volunteer drivers

Apr. 172017

PARIS — Community Concepts is looking for additional volunteer drivers to provide transportation to people living in southern, western and coastal Maine. Drivers provide rides to medical appointments, child development programs and other critical destinations. They offer a vital service to the community by enhancing quality of life for those who have no other means of transportation.

The team of drivers use their own vehicles and volunteer their time, but they are reimbursed $0.41 for every mile they drive to cover the costs of fuel, maintenance and vehicle wear and tear. Schedules are flexible and you can drive as much or as little as you’d like.

All drivers must attend a free, three-day training that includes Maine Driving Dynamics (defensive driving), CPR and First Aid. Drivers must also have their own vehicle a valid driver’s license and meet program background check requirements.
