WATERVILLE — Sawyer Bearce absolutely loves and admires police officers and has for quite some time.
Last winter, he received a police uniform as a gift. He wears it quite frequently; in fact, almost daily, noted his parents, Misti and Jacob Bearce.
Sawyer says he wants to be a policeman someday, and for months he has been asking to visit the police officers at the Waterville station and take a tour. The family knew that, because of COVID 19, it wouldn’t be possible. However, on May 26, they called the Waterville Police Station to see if it would be possible for a police officer could come to the house and visit Sawyer.
Within minutes Officer Steve Brame arrived.
Four-year-old Sawyer had many questions, and Brame patiently answered all of them.
Sawyer is still anxiously waiting the day he can actually go to the police station, but meeting an officer was a dream come true.
