SKOWHEGAN — The 27th annual Holiday Stroll will be held Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7, beginning with Friday night’s pararad eand continuing Saturday with free events and treats, including visits with Santa, a petting zoo, marshmallow roasting, and the elf scavenger hunt.
New this year, Saturday activities that have taken place at the Municipal Lot will be moved to the Debe River Walk, which will be turned into Whoville.

Friday, December 6
Holiday Bazaar: 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Skowhegan Free Public Library, Elm St.
Free Holiday Movie: The Grinch (Jim Carrey version) 4 p.m., Spotlight Cinemas at The Strand, Court St.
Christmas Story Reading by Lynn Plourde: 4:30 p.m., Skowhegan Free Public Library, Elm St.
Free Hot Cocoa: 5-9 p.m., The Bankery, Water St.
Holiday Parade: 7 p.m., Starts at the Skowhegan Savings parking lot on Elm St., travels down Madison Avenue and Water Street, and ends past Redington Memorial Home. Parade participants can sign up here.
Saturday, December 7
Activities, giveaways, more at downtown businesses and orgranizations throughout the day
Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus and Ornament Making: 8-10 a.m., Tewksbury Hall, behind the Federated Church, Island Ave. Ages 12-plus $6 each; kids under 12, $2 each. The Skowhegan Area Middle School Student Council will offer ornament crafts for kids after they’ve eaten breakfast.
Elf Scavenger Hunt 9 a.m.-2 p.m., downtown: Search for hidden elves, record all their names, and get entered for a chance to win a prize. Get your scavenger hunt sheet at the Skowhegan Fleuriste, 93 Water St.
Skowhegan Music Boosters Holiday Fair: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Skowhegan Area High School.
Bloomfield Elementary Craft Fair: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Bloomfield Elementary School, Academy Circle.
Cornville Regional Charter School Craft and Vendor Fair: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Water St.
Free Holiday Movie: The Grinch (Jim Carrey version) 10 a.m., Spotlight Cinemas at The Strand, Court St.
Visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus: 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Shelley’s Toy Box, Water St.

Holiday bazaar: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (book giveaway 10-noon or while supplies last), Skowhegan Free Public Library, Elm St.
Ugly Sweater Walk: 11 a.m., meet at walking bridge behind M. Thai. Put on your favorite ugly sweater and walk down Water Street with the GFWC Semper Fidelis Club. The walk ends at Redington Memorial Home, where you’ll wander through the Festival of Trees. Suggested donation to participate is $10 per person. All proceeds go to the Somerset Career & Technical Center food pantry for students.
Christmas Ornament Knit-Along: 2-4 p.m., Happyknits
Kennebec Dip: 2:30 p.m., Kennebec Banks Rest Area, U.S. Route 2. Freeze your jingle bells off to raise money for community projects. Sign up for free and get your friends to pledge donations to see you take the plunge. Hit fundraising milestones for fun prizes and rewards. We’ll also be handing out a prize for the best costume.
