Commuters, visitors may sign up for free Portland emergency notifications

Those driving into Portland for work, shopping or to eat can keep on top of what’s going on with parking bans and emergency alerts through the city’s CivicReady mass notificiation system.
CivicReady is the most immediate and direct way to receive important city announcements, including parking ban notices and emergency alerts and more, city officials said.
All users have the ability to customize notification preferences after signing up. Alerts can be sent via email, text or phone call. Messages can also be received in a variety of languages. Those living and working in the city can even get targeted notices for their immediate neighborhood when necessary.
