It’s a new day! It’s a new start!

Hey Friend,
It’s time to start putting away all our winter clothes and digging out our spring/summer things! I love this time of year because it means everything is fresh, new and vibrant. Beautiful things are all around us. Flowers are starting to bloom, and so are you!
We live in a culture where the media, celebrities, magazines and social media tell us their own definition of beauty. Their definition of beautiful sets up an artificial idea about what women should look like. For instance, I remember as a teenager, I joined one of the cheerleading organizations in town. There I became friends with a girl, who I later learned was “popular.: She wore make up and the cutest clothes, got her nails done and was thought to be everything a young teen looked up to. As I began hanging out with her, she started to tell me what to do to become beautiful.
She would say:
* “Britny, if you wear makeup the boys will think you’re beautiful.”
* “Britny, you can borrow this mini skirt; it will make you look sexy.”
* “You should lose weight because you are too fat.”
That friendship lasted about a year and a half. I bought into the lies fed to me.
I lost a dangerous amount of weight and was on the verge of going down a very dangerous road. Thankfully, I saw the light and started listening to God rather than my peers. One lie can lead to many dangerous circumstances. Have you been in a similar situation, either when you were a teen or even now as an adult? I’m here to tell you the enemy is a liar! You are beautiful the way you are! You were created to be cherished, to be treated with respect and to be loved unconditionally. You are beautifully, wonderfully made, and you have been handpicked by a creator who loves you with all of his heart.
Now lets get to the gentlemen. It’s time to man up and show woman there are men out there who still believe in chivalry (being a gentlemen). Trust me when I say all most woman want is to be treated like a queen. Now, I’m not talking about women wearing crowns and making you do everything. What I am talking about is to cherish them, like the special jewels they are. A little thing like opening the door or even saying you look beautiful today can go a long way. It starts with one person and can lead to many.
Here is a challenge for all my readers. For the ladies out there, let’s build up each other and not judge what beautiful is. For the men out there, start doing little things to show gentlemen are still alive and well.
To all my readers, you all are beautiful and are priceless. You make this world so much brighter because you are in it. I love you all dearly, and I couldn’t do this without you all. You rock!
Love always,
Britny
