Maine drop-off locations for Operation Christmas Child announced

BOONE, N.C. — The organizers of Operation Christmas Child will have multiple locations in central Maine the week of Nov. 12 through 19, where donations of toys, school supplies and hygiene items may be dropped off.
The effort is organized by Samaritan’s Purse, headed by Franklin Graham, and takes place across the country.

Maine volunteers hope to collect more than 8,000 gifts to contribute to Operation Christmas Child’s 2018 goal of reaching 11 million children in need, organizers said.
Area dropoff locations, from Nov. 12 through 19 only, are:
AUGUSTA: Penney Memorial Baptist Church, 393 Water St. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, noon to 2 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19.
WATERVILLE: Kennebec Valley Baptist Church, 91 Marston Road, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday, as well as Saturday; 3 to 5 p.m. Friday and Sunday; 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19.
WEST GARDINER: Grace Community Chapel, 187 Lewiston Road, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday; 9 a.m. to noon Saturday; 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday; 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19.
LISBON FALLS: Lisbon Falls Church of Nazarene, 184 Main St., 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Monday, Nov. 19; 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
MADISON: Calvary Pentecostal Church, 160 Old Point Ave., 9 to 11 a.m. Monday; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Friday; 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday; 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and Monday, Nov. 19; 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
