Land trust to hold apple-pruning workshop in Bethel Feb. 25

Feb. 192017

BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Land Trust has engaged two local tree experts, Rick Churchill and Beverly Blake, to lead an apple tree pruning workshop at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Valentine Farm Conservation Center, 162 North Road.

We’ll begin with an unpruned tree, then travel to two other sites where trees have had slight or regular pruning. Participants will see how apple trees can be shaped and transformed to optimum health. Please dress warmly and come with snowshoes to access the trees.

The Mahoosuc Land Trust is an accredited community land trust encouraging public interest in conservation in central Oxford County and eastern Coos County, N.H., supporting a balance of growth and conservation and emphasizing sustainable and traditional land uses.
