AUGUSTA — Ridhi Gupta, MD and D. B. Nguyen MD, PhD have joined MaineGeneral’s Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care.
Gupta, a medical oncologist, joined MaineGeneral in July after completing an advanced fellowship in blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapy at Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif.
She earned a medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi, India, and completed a translational research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Division of Surgical Oncology in Boston, focusing on targeted therapy in melanoma. She then completed her residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College, Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, N.Y. and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina Charleston, S.C.
Gupta is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a specialty certification in medical oncology and hematology.
Nguyen, a radiation oncologist with Radiation Oncology Associates, joined the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care in June.
He graduated magna cum laude with highest honors in Applied Science with Specialization in Electronics and Optics from Harvard University; earned an MD from Dartmouth Medical School; and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Dartmouth College, Thayer School of Engineering. After a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology at Yale University, he spent a year in Denmark as a NATO post-doctoral fellow at Aalborg University, and completed an internship and radiation oncology residency at Yale University School of Medicine.
Nguyen is certified by the American Board of Radiology.
