From Our Community, For Our Community
I am the descendant of Lebanese and French immigrants who came to work in Waterville’s mills, and I was raised in the South End in a single-parent, low-income family of eight.

Graduating from Waterville High School in 1976 and shortly after taking a job at Scott Paper Company, I soon married my wife, Doreen, and we were blessed with two children in the next few years.
While employed at Scott Paper, I held several union offices, including union president. I was chosen to work as a facilitator between union and management to implement work practices that would keep the company competitive in a struggling industry. With the company’s closure in 1998 I returned to school for a new career and have worked in the Winslow School System for the last 20 years as a computer technician. I see the needs of schools firsthand, and at the same time know that property taxes cannot keep rising.
Throughout my life, giving back to my community has been important to me. Past service at the United Way and coaching youth sports were ways I was able to help others. My current service on the Waterville Planning Board, Mid Maine Chamber of Commerce, Inland Hospital Patient and Family Advisory Committee, Mid Maine Tech Center, and New Dimensions Federal Credit Union board of directors gives me vital knowledge and experience to help me serve the people of Waterville well in Augusta.
I will devote the hours necessary to work hard for policies that make a positive difference for Waterville and the State of Maine. As a husband, father, grandfather and community member, I would like to continue to give back by serving you — the citizens of Waterville — as your Democratic legislator.
