AUGUSTA – Christopher Durant, a sixth-grader at Meroby Elementary School in Mexico, visited the State House with his grandfather, Tony Carter, on Thursday, Feb. 1.
During the visit, Christopher served as an honorary page in the Maine Senate, and the pair met with their state senator, Lisa Keim, R-Oxford.
“It was a pleasure to have Christopher and Tony join us in Augusta and to have Christopher participate in our session,” said Keim.
The honorary page program, which is open for students from third grade through high school, gives students an opportunity to participate in the legislative process for one day’s session in either the House or Senate. For more information, contact Keim’s office at 207-287-1505.
