Alfond Foundation gives $2 million grant to Waterville Creates!

WATERVILLE — The Harold Alfond Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in grant funding to Waterville Creates! to continue its work toward building a strong future for the arts in greater Waterville, including the Maine Film Center and the Waterville Opera House.

The grant will allow Waterville Creates! to focus on a number of key priorities in 2017 and 2018, including increased programming, collaboration between local arts organizations, marketing Waterville’s arts and cultural assets, improvements to Common Street Arts at 93 Main St., funding for the Partner Incentive Grant program and the purchase of digital projection equipment at the Waterville Opera House.
