The Sales Manager will oversee assigned account relationships and act as a senior-level sales consultant to associate-level sales reps. This role will serve as senior seller as well as an expert for colleagues, specifically to help sales associates maneuver initiatives and opportunities, and report to management on business trends. A good candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills. We always seek individuals who can sell solutions not just ads, who appreciate straight-talk, are financially motivated and value working in a positive team environment. The Sales Manager will be expected to gain comprehensive knowledge of Turner Publishing, Inc. products and policies, and develop a strong understand of its needs and opportunities, with responsibility for overall sales performance.

Responsibilities:

• Sell advertising
• Keep up with competitive trends
• Collaborate with sales associates in prospecting
• Provide excellent client customer service and build strong relationships internally and externally
• Have and promote deep knowledge of Turner Publishing, Inc. products and sales strategies
• Conceptualize, prepare and deliver sales presentations
• Communicate detailed and specific account information to sales management
• Act as a team player and contribute to overall sales team’s success
• Implement directives from management
• Oversee sales prospects for special sections and lead sales team strategy sessions
• Travel to outer markets
• Attend industry events
• Accompany sales associates on calls as an expert when necessary and approved by management

Desired Skills and Experience:

• College degree
• 5-10+ years print/digital advertising/media sales experience
• Strong communication, team leadership and presentation skills
• Experience inspiring teams to reach objectives
• Is goal driven and has experience with goal setting, pace monitoring and periodic reporting

Demonstrated ability and willingness to:

• Grow ad revenue
• Be responsible for effective sales communication to internal stakeholders
• Work collaboratively in a team environment
• Invest in a long-term commitment to team and advertising sales
• Travel as required
• Support the team and company goals
• Work under deadline constraints
• Multi task around account management as well as sales associate support
