WINTHROP — Winthrop Plays Outside will be offering a new program for children — from birth to age 5 — and their adults called “Merry Pop-Ins.” Participants will gather at designated outside spots in and around the community. The program begins Thursday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m. and continues the second Thursday of every month, always at 9 a.m.
Activities might include seeing the colors of fall on a hike at Mt. Pisgah, snowshoeing and other snow activities on the football field, and a scavenger hunt of the town murals. A different outside adventure planned specifically for this age group will be a monthly activity.
These events are free, open to all, and directed by Life Is Good play-maker Karen Richards Toothaker.
For more information, visit the Facebook page for Winthrop Plays Outside and be sure to watch for the rainbow umbrella at each gathering spot. Paper copies of the calendar are available at the Winthrop Public Library, 39 Bowdoin St.
