SMITHFIELD — Theodore W Feegel, 88, passed away peacefully on Dec. 12 at Oak Grove Center in Waterville, surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born Dec. 15, 1927, in Meriden, Conn., the son of Henry D. and Gertrude (Johnson) Feegel.

Dad was a strong, resilient and dedicated family man, the cornerstone of his family. Dad’s honesty wasn’t always what you wanted to hear, but it was always said in your best interest. He loved to tell stories and had a true gift of being able to make you laugh, cry or simply just smile. Dad made an impact on people whether it was their first time meeting or one of many.

He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and had a love of farming.

Dad proudly spent the last three years of his life caring for his wonderful wife, Evelyn, while struggling with his own many illnesses. Dec. 15 would have been his 89th birthday.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn (Hill) Feegel; his children, Sheila, Debbie, Raymond and their families including grandchildren, Sarah, Mike, Matt and Christopher, and great-grandchildren Elsa, Iris and Caiden. Also, many nieces, nephews, family and friends from out of state with whom he stayed in contact until his final days.

We would like to thank our parent’s special friends who helped care for mom and dad while they were living at home and the staff who cared for dad at Oak Grove for their assistance and guidance through this loss and as they continue to care for mom.

He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Feegel; and sister, Margaret Giampapa.

We all now say goodbye to a special man who will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. We love you, Dad.
