WINSLOW — Please join us at Winslow Public Library from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, for the inauguration of the first of an ongoing series of exhibits of artifacts from archaeological excavations at Fort Halifax and the three other early forts along the Kennebec: Fort Richmond, Fort Western and Fort Shirley.
Fort Western curator Linda Novak will talk about the artifacts and the new Center for the Study of the 17th and 18th Century Kennebec River. This project has been funded by a grant from the Maine Humanities Council.
Refreshments will be served. Snow date is Friday, Dec. 30.
