WINSLOW — The Kingdom of Life Church of Oakland will hold a 5K walk/run Saturday, Aug. 19, beginning at the trail across from Winslow Elementary School, 285 Benton Ave. The Least of These 5K Run/Walk for the Homeless will take registration on the day of the race starting at 7 a.m., with walkers and runners stepping off at 8:30 a.m.
Adult registration is between $20 and $30; Ages 13-18, $15, and under those under 12 are free.
Throughout the day event there will be free, on-site massages by Jessica Lint, licensed massage therapist. Medals will be awarded after the race in a variety of categories, and all proceeds go toward helping the homeless. Everyone is welcome, including pets.
