Skowhegan Lions Club trio honored by Lions Club International

SKOWHEGAN — Chuck Worster, Cathi Worster and Norm Hart, members of the Skowhegan Lions Club, have been awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship by Lions Clubs International in recognition of their commitment to community service and innovative ideas, the club announced.

The Worsters, of Madison, have been Lions since 2008, and Hart, of Canaan, since 2000. All three have participated in club projects, including Talking Christmas Tree, APWA, Riverfest, Skowhegan Lions Food Booth and the Classic Car Cruise In.

All three said that it’s rewarding to help fulfill community needs and a great honor to receive the award.
The Skowhegan Lions Club has 43 members and meets at 6:25 p.m. the first and third Monday of the month at The Heritage House Restaurant. The club is made up of members of the community who identify needs in the community and work together to fulfill them. For more information contact Chuck Worster at 858-5249.
