GARDINER — Gardiner Area High School recently announced its second semester honor roll.
The rolls announced don’t include the names of some students who achieved honors but whose names weren’t available for publication.

AUGUSTA – Educare Central Maine recently honored Rep. Colleen Madigan, D-Waterville, with its Educare Appreciation Award for Dedication to children.

Central, western Maine students awarded Franklin Savings scholarships

FARMINGTON — Franklin Savings Bank’s Community Development Foundation has awarded $36,000 college scholarships to 12 students from Androscoggin, Franklin, Somerset and Oxford counties.
The scholarships are $3,000 each. The bank awards the scholarships each year to students from 11 local schools.

Poland Spring awards Good Science Scholarships

POLAND SPRING — Poland Spring Water recently awarded 15 Good Science Scholarships of $1,000 each to seniors from four Poland-area high schools.
Each of the seniors is planning to pursue post-secondary education in life science, physical science, earth science, engineering or environmental science or policy.

Maine Department of Education does away with walk-in hours

AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Education will no longer offer walk-in hours for teachers seeking credential services, beginning Monday, July 9.

Central Maine students win awards at SkillsUSA Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two Lewiston, Maine, residents who are now in college out of state, and two Oxford Hills Technical School students won awards at the 2018 SkillsUSA Championships, held on June 27 and 28. More than 6,300 students competed at the national showcase of career and technical education.

Leavitt High School bestows diplomas on 120 graduates

LEWISTON — Leavitt Area High School commencement exercises were held June 10 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Regional School Unit 52 superintendent N. Kimberly Brandt and Leavitt principal Eben Shaw handed out 120 diplomas.
