ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Bradley Morissette, of Auburn, Maine, graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with an with an AS in business.

CMCC students earn Next Generation Personal Finance scholarships

AUBURN — Five students at Central Maine Community College were honored recently as recipients of Next Generation Personal Finance scholarships.
The students participated in an online activity offered by NGPF, the Payback Challenge, then wrote an essay about how the activity generated dialogue in their family about budgeting for college.

Production crew for LIttle Theatre’s ‘Young Frankenstein’ announced

AUBURN — Director Chris Hodgkin has announced his crew for the upcoming Community Little Theatre production of the musical comedy “Young Frankenstein.”

TCMHS, partners increase effort to tackle region’s opioid crisis

LEWISTON — Tri-County Mental Health Services and its partners are forming a plan to address issues surrounding the opioid crisis in the region, and hosted Community Partners Engaging in Community Conversation at Lewiston Middle School on June 28 to discuss the issues and solutions.
The forum was a conversation around the growing opioid crisis, its impact on individuals, families, and communities, and how, by working together, the challenge can be met in part by increased availability of medication-assisted treatment for those who are struggling with opioid use disorder.

Fresh Air Fund kids arrive in Auburn for a Maine break

AUBURN — The Central Maine Committee welcomed a small group of New York City children as they arrived in Auburn Wednesday, July 11.
Volunteer host families share their summers for one week or more with Fresh Air children, ages 7 to 18.

‘Baking with Summer Fruits’ course to be offered July 28

AUBURN — The Center for Workforce & Professional Development at Central Maine Community College will offer a “Baking with Summer Fruits” course from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28. Deadline for registration is July 23.

CMCC open house for prospective students is July 18

AUBURN — Central Maine Community College will host an informational program from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, for students interested in attending the college this fall.

Androscoggin County students named to UMaine dean’s list

ORONO — A number of Androscoggin County students made the University of Maine dean’s list for the spring semester.
The university recognized 2,214 students for achieving dean’s list honors, of whom 1,634 are from Maine, 533 are from 31 other states and 47 are from 21 countries other than the U.S.
