‘The Midwife’s Apprentice’ is July book for Paris Library Novel Idea Book Club

PARIS — Paris Public Library’s “Novel Idea Book Club” will meet discuss “The Midwife’s Apprentice,” when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 17.
The historical novel, by Karen Cushman, won a 1996 Newberry Medal.

The setting for the novel is a small village in medieval England. A young homeless girl, cold and hungry, finds work as an apprentice to a sharp-tempered midwife. Life is far from easy.
New members are always welcome to join this friendly, laid back group of eager readers, both adults and young adults.
The group meets the third Tuesday of each month.
