NORRIDGEWOCK — The Cpl. Cole Memorial 5k and Half-Marathon will be held Sunday, Aug. 19, starting and finishing at Mill Stream Elementary School, 26 Mercer Road, with all proceeds to benefit the Cpl. Cole Scholarship Fund.
The event is being held in memory of Cpl.Eugene Cole, who was killed in the line of duty April 25.
Every aspect of this race will honor Cole. All profits will be given to the Cole family to go toward a scholarship fund. Cole’s badge number was 1312. Every mile will be marked at 1.12 and the half marathon will be slightly longer at 13.12 miles.
The half-marathon will get underway at 7 a.m., and the 5K will step off at 8 a.m. In addition to walkers and runners, the 5K will allow strollers and well-behaved dogs. The half-marathon will offer both a run and run/walk. Registation ends Friday, Aug.17, at 11:59 a.m. The race will be capped at 1,000 participants.
